Three training ambassadors at BVS

BVS training ambassadors whet pupils’ appetite for training
Whether it’s a lecture, online conference, workshop or training course, the assignments as a training ambassador are diverse. Dennis, Leon and Louis, apprentices at BVS, show pupils why it’s worth starting a dual apprenticeship. They are three of 700 IHK training ambassadors who have been actively involved in a total of 687 school assignments in the Böblingen district over the last ten years.

Since 2015, BVS training ambassadors have been providing information about training as a construction mechanic. Leon faced many interested students during his presentation in a vocational preparation class in January. He also gave an interview about his experiences in training during an online conference attended by around 100 pupils from secondary schools and parents. Frequently asked questions were: What are the typical activities of an apprentice construction mechanic? What do you like about this apprenticeship? How does the application process work? “Many young people think that you can’t get ahead in your career with an apprenticeship or that you have fewer career opportunities,” reports Leon. He disagrees: “The practical experience in real craft, technical or commercial projects offers varied tasks and the training also means financial independence and really broad opportunities for further development.”

Silvia Steiner, Head of Human Resources at BVS Blechtechnik, emphasizes: “Training with us is modern, value- and future-oriented. Since 1999, we have been training young talents on the latest production machines and preparing them for a very good degree with a wide range of activities in sheet metal processing, machine programming, design data creation or assembly“. With the IHK training ambassador initiative, the trainees promote vocational training and learn presentation techniques in a training course, and the presentations also boost their self-confidence. The program is therefore an added value for everyone involved. For our three training ambassadors, it is clear that it is really fun to encourage young people to start an apprenticeship.

Many thanks for your great commitment to our training, also on behalf of the training management at BVS Blechtechnik!
