System technology topping-out ceremony
On October 6, 2017, the shareholders of the newly founded BVS Systemtechnik celebrated the topping-out ceremony of the new plant with guests from politics and business. From next spring, 20 skilled workers will be producing sheet metal products for technical applications.
The Minister President of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Manuela Schwesig, was delighted about the emergence of a new employer in the region: “With BVS Systemtechnik, the next company is moving into the region and we are creating 1,000 jobs here at the Schwerin Industrial Park. Not only is there space for investment, Schwerin also has many skilled workers,” emphasized the head of government.
The new BVS Systemtechnik team will manufacture prototypes and sheet metal products for various industries. “We are diversifying BVS Systemtechnik. New projects for the electrical engineering industry or the production of vending machines are planned for the plant in Schwerin,” reports Harald Steiner, Managing Director of BVS Systemtechnik. BVS Systemtechnik, a subsidiary of BVS Blechtechnik from Böblingen, is targeting new customers in northern Germany and is taking on orders from the parent company’s existing business as an extended workbench. It also supplies flight seat assemblies in a strategic partnership with the flight seat manufacturer ZIM, which is also based at the Schwerin Industrial Park.
An investment of € 8 million was made in the new building and in equipping it with state-of-the-art machinery. Punching laser machines, bending systems, grinding machines, riveting and assembly stations are installed on a total area of around 4,000 m². Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the city administration and the state economic development agency Invest in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, BVS’s expansion into the north-eastern federal state is proceeding smoothly and quickly. The opening of the business is planned for April 2018. The system technology employees will then punch, laser-cut and bend the first sheet metal parts and deliver them to customers as assembled sheet metal components.
