BVS in running fever

…colleagues with a total of 2654 runners at the popular running event. A record-breaking 17% of the BVS workforce took part and achieved great times: Our fastest athlete, Torsten M., crossed the finish line after 4.8 km in a smooth 18 minutes. Jacqueline K. came in 11th among all women with a time of over 19 minutes.

For most of the BVS athletes, the Olympic idea of “taking part is everything” came first. Harald Steiner was the head of the team for the first time. “A great shared experience: crossing the finish line with colleagues from production, administration and the trainees! That brings us together.” Cora J. and Slobodanka V., who work in surface treatment, agree: “We prepared for the run with a few training sessions and are really happy that we came through so well.” With a combination of running and walking, Waldemar S. (Schleifen area) mastered the round as the shortest runner. The run aroused his sporting ambition and so he signed up at short notice. The two trainees Louis and Merdan reached the finish line at the same time with 23 minutes and were thrilled by the atmosphere. This was supported by the loud music of the DJ and the drummers at the edge of the course, who coaxed the last reserves out of the runners around the long lake. After the sweat-inducing effort, the BVS squad celebrated well into the evening at the team pavilion and toasted their great performance with thirst quenchers.
