A New Approach to Laser Welding: BVS Blechtechnik Invests in Three New Systems
Anyone who welds knows that moment. The seam isn’t right, the rework begins, and the clock is ticking. That’s exactly the moment we wanted to significantly reduce in our production process.
At BVS Blechtechnik, we have specifically expanded our laser welding capabilities with three new systems. This was not done for any single reason, but rather to meet a variety of requirements. After all, our customers’ components are as diverse as the tasks they serve. High-volume production, complex geometries, or small production runs each require their own specific solutions.
Three Technologies for Different Needs
The Trumpf TruLaser Weld 5000 is used wherever maximum repeatability is essential. This turnkey robotic welding system offers a significant enhancement thanks to FusionLine technology. Gaps of up to 1 mm can be reliably closed without having to specially adapt components for laser welding. This makes the process suitable for a significantly wider range of components, while maintaining consistently high quality from part to part.
The Amada FLW-Le is designed for applications that require both precision and tight tolerances. The robotic fiber laser welding cell utilizes patented WEAVING technology. An oscillating laser beam reliably and quickly bridges even irregular gap dimensions without compromising seam quality. An integrated camera system detects deviations even before the first weld spot is made, significantly reducing the effort required.
The BlueLaserTools Blumodular 2000 complements automated systems wherever maximum flexibility is required. This water-cooled handheld laser welding machine delivers laser precision exactly to the areas a robot cannot reach. Typical applications include prototypes, small production runs, complex or hard-to-reach geometries, and repairs. Two handpieces for different seam requirements and a triple safety system ensure reliable results. The system is developed and manufactured in Germany.
What this means for our customers in concrete terms
With these three systems, we have the right solution for a variety of requirements. Together, they cover virtually the entire spectrum of laser welding, from high-volume production to individual parts and from simple gap dimensions to complex visible welds.
The benefits are evident in everyday use. Less rework, shorter turnaround times, and more components that can be produced cost-effectively.
Laser welding was long considered a specialized field. At BVS Blechtechnik, it is now an integral part of our manufacturing process.
BVS history: First press brake
A piece of BVS history: Our first press brake in the foyer
Since the end of May 2025, a special exhibit has had a permanent place in the foyer of BVS Blechtechnik GmbH: the machine that started it all in 1989. It is a press brake from Promecam, which was delivered on May 20, 1989 and laid the technological foundation for our company.
Today, the machine is representative of our beginnings in sheet metal processing. With a bending length of 1.25 m and a pressing force of 25 tons, it formed the foundation of our first production steps. The fact that it was already NC-controlled at the time and had a motorized back gauge shows the quality standards we have set for our production since the company was founded.
After more than three decades, it now documents the path that BVS has taken in manufacturing technology in our entrance area. It makes our history tangible for visitors and employees in the truest sense of the word.

Gas tank exchange – two truck-mounted cranes
Gas tank exchange – two truck-mounted cranes
Two truck-mounted cranes, a 30,000-liter nitrogen tank – and me in the middle of it all.
Thursday, May 22, at BVS Blechtechnik: no ordinary working day.
Our liquid nitrogen tank had to be replaced – and that was only possible with heavy equipment. Two mobile cranes were used to swing out the old tank and place the new one – now with a capacity of 30,000 liters – with pinpoint accuracy.
A very special opportunity for me as a marketing employee:
I was not only able to document the entire process, but also accompany it directly from the crane working platform, professionally secured of course. Airy heights, a direct view of the floating tank, camera in hand – adrenaline meets industrial photography.
Why switch?
👉 Change supplier to SOL
👉 Capacity expansion – more buffer, more flexibility
👉 Investment in security of supply and production stability
A logistical tour de force, planned with millimeter precision and impressively implemented. You don’t get insights like this every day – not even at BVS. But that’s exactly what makes it so exciting.
📸 Insights can be found in the video & in the gallery: Gas tank swap – two truck-mounted cranes (Video)
A big thank you to Rothmund GmbH Kran und Montage and the BVS team for making my adventure at lofty heights with the crane work platform possible – professional support as you would wish for!
And let’s be honest: when was the last time you stood eye-to-eye with a 30,000-liter tank?

Surface finishing: Coat Master Flex
Surface finishing: Coat Master Flex
Hi, I’m the new guy at BVS Blechtechnik.
Coat Master Flex – my name. My mission? Measure powder coating like a pro.
In the past, the parts had to be baked before anyone could say anything about the layer thickness.
Me? Do that first.
Even before it gets hot, I know whether everything fits – without touching anything.
This really saves time (at least half an hour per part), nerves and rework.
I am an area meter. No more spot measurements. I check many places at the same time – quickly, precisely, reliably.
Whether 5 or 300µm (before the oven) or up to 500µm (afterwards) – I can see everything.
I am cloud-based, always connected.
The order number? I have it at hand, of course.
I know which job I belong to – it couldn’t be more efficient.
In short: I digitize the powder coating.
I look forward to working with you,
– Your Coat Master Flex
