The BVS team once again took part in the 7th Flugfeld company run in Böblingen. Five years ago, six colleagues took part, but this year a record 39 running and walking enthusiasts crossed the start and finish line as Team BVS. For most colleagues, the focus was not on the fastest time, but on the fun of the team experience and celebrating together at the team pavilion. Whether trainee or about to retire, authorized signatory or team leader – everyone had a great time, especially after crossing the finish line.
The 5 km run, which should not be underestimated, demanded a certain amount of stamina and fitness, and the hot and humid temperatures and the tightly packed field of almost 3,000 runners made conditions even more difficult. The overall winner was a marathon runner who crossed the finish line after 15:51 minutes; the fastest BVS man, Andreas Kohler, completed the course in a remarkable 20 minutes. The fastest runner in the BVS team was Michaela Link with 26 minutes. Our fit 59-year-old colleague from the administration department proved that running is fun at any age – she crossed the finish line after 29 minutes at a steady pace. And the team leader for rivets/assembly didn’t miss the opportunity to take part in the event even while he was on vacation, lining up in the starting block just a few minutes before the starting signal.
After the sweat-inducing action, all the walkers and runners were looking forward to the cool drinks at the BVS stand. The BVS runners enjoyed the beautiful late summer weather until after 8 p.m. and were already working out the strategy for next year’s Flugfeld Firmenlauf. The Quality Management Team Leader has set his future goal: “In 2019, I’ll be running in under 30 minutes with over 50s!”
